Mardi Gras

The Grade 11/12 French students, after studying the history of Mardi Gras and the unique customs and traditions of New Orleans, shared their learning with the Grade 7/8 French students. They worked in groups to create parade floats, make masks, decorate cupcakes in traditional Mardi Gras colours and to dance La Bastringue.

I Love to Read

February at Elm Creek School was I Love to Read Month. There were many activities throughout the month, such as guest readers, spirit days, contests, Stop/Drop & Read times, games, and cross-grade reading. It concluded with a literacy afternoon for the Kindergarten to Grade Eights and assembly for all.

Varsity Girls Win

Elm Creek basketball team captured the consolation side in a tournament in Teulon, Manitoba on February 8th and 9th.

New Kitchen in Elm Creek School

Students now benefit from a kitchen installed to help with life skills and math outcomes.

Kindergarten Registration

If your child was born in 2014, he/she is eligible to attend kindergarten beginning September, 2019. Registrations will be accepted between January 14 to 18, 2019 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. only. Your child’s birth certificate MUST be presented at the time of registration. Please contact the school for more information.

Reader’s Theatre at the Manor

Mrs. Martens’ 3/4 class and Mrs. Spencer’s grade 4/5 class presented three Reader’s Theatre Christmas pieces to our local Manor in Elm Creek.
